Therapy support roles involve assisting occupational therapists, physiotherapists, speech and language therapists or other allied health professionals in delivering treatment programmes. Tasks include setting up equipment, supporting clients during exercises or activities, maintaining records, and helping with assessments under supervision.

Employers typically require GCSEs including English and maths, though some accept equivalent qualifications or relevant care experience. Many roles offer on-the-job training toward formal therapy assistant qualifications. A DBS check is standard.

These positions are found in NHS trusts, private hospitals, community health services, special schools, care homes and rehabilitation centres. They sit at entry to junior level within therapy teams, reporting to qualified therapists.
