As we continue to grow our Oncology portfolio, we're seeking an inspiring people leader, as the National Sales Lead, who is passionate about building high-performing teams, developing talent, and helping individuals achieve their best.

This is not a role for someone who wants to manage from behind a desk. This is a highly visible national leadership position where you'll spend time in the field coaching, developing and empowering a talented team while partnering across the business to deliver meaningful outcomes for healthcare professionals and patients across Australia. KEY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Lead and inspire a high-performing National Sales Team by building capability, coaching individuals and fostering a culture of accountability, collaboration and continuous improvement.
  • Translate Brand and Marketing strategies into clear, customer-centric field plans that deliver strong commercial outcomes across the Oncology portfolio.
  • Balance portfolio priorities with evolving business needs, enabling agile resource allocation and execution to maximise impact.
  • Partner with Marketing, Medical, Market Access, Corporate Affairs and other cross-functional teams to deliver integrated customer engagement and business outcomes.
  • Work with the Business Unit Manager to set, monitor and optimise field performance, ensuring focus on the highest-value opportunities.
  • Build team capability through coaching, continuous feedback and the Challenger model to strengthen customer engagement and in-field effectiveness.
  • Lead strategic customer engagement and business development initiatives to drive sustainable portfolio growth.
  • Provide end-to-end people leadership, including recruitment, performance, capability development, succession planning and engagement.
  • Manage the National Sales budget and lead strategic projects to deliver agreed business objectives efficiently and effectively.
  • Report any adverse event within 24 hours as per AbbVie’s policies and procedures.
  • Proactively participate in AbbVie’s WHS programs, adhere to policies and promote a safe work environment at all times.
  • Adhere to AbbVie’s codes of conduct and compliance processes, including timely training and maintaining ethics and integrity.
  • Other ad hoc duties such as administrative duties, as requested.

Qualifications

  • Tertiary Qualifications in a science, business or management discipline or equivalent
  • Proven ability to lead, coach and develop high-performing teams, fostering a culture of accountability, collaboration and continuous improvement.
  • Focus on developing talent, enhancing performance and driving customer-centric engagement through strong coaching and capability building skills .
  • Strong strategic and commercial acumen, with the ability to translate business strategy into effective field execution and sustainable growth.
  • Demonstrated ability to prioritise resources and adapt to changing business needs, balancing short-term delivery with long-term objectives.
  • Exceptional cross-functional leadership skills, with the ability to influence and collaborate effectively across Medical, Marketing, Market Access and Corporate Affairs.
  • Excellent stakeholder engagement, communication and relationship-building skills, with the ability to influence without direct authority.
  • Proven ability to identify opportunities, solve complex problems and drive strategic initiatives to successful outcomes.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of the pharmaceutical industry and healthcare environment.
  • Oncology experience is highly regarded, in haematology and/or solid tumours.
