As a Digital Content Writer within the Marketing & Recruitment Division, you'll create engaging, audience-focused content that brings the Deakin brand to life across the university website and digital marketing channels. Your work will help audiences discover, understand and connect with Deakin through compelling content and exceptional digital experiences.
Working closely with stakeholders across the university, you'll combine creativity, strategy and digital best practice to deliver content that is engaging, accessible, search-optimised and aligned with Deakin's recruitment and engagement goals. As the Digital Content Writer you will:
- Develop and deliver audience-led, cross-channel content strategies, communication plans and campaigns that align with marketing objectives, drive engagement and create a consistent, impactful experience across touchpoints.
- Create compelling, persuasive and user-focused content for the Deakin University website, ensuring all content reflects the Deakin brand and maintains a high standard of quality, consistency, tone of voice and visual presentation.
- Research, write, edit and optimise digital content, ensuring information is accurate, current, accessible and aligned with brand standards, user needs and best-practice digital content principles.
- Collaborate with a broad range of stakeholders and draw on audience insights, emerging trends and diverse perspectives to identify opportunities for innovation, improve processes and enhance the effectiveness of content and organisational strategies.
To be successful, you’ll have:
- A Degree in a relevant discipline, with at least 4 years subsequent relevant experience; or an equivalent combination of relevant experience and/or education/training
- Sound understanding of web content, including accessibility, usability, information architecture and writing for the web.
- Ability to craft effective advertising messages for a variety of media, including social, display and out of home advertising.
- Understanding of interface and responsive design, user experience design processes and principles.
