The opportunity

PLS has an exciting and newly created opportunity for a Senior Analyst to join our Financial Planning & Analysis Corporate & Reporting team. This is an opportunity to join a growth business with an opportunity to build a best-in-class FP&A function while developing your career as a financial planning professional.

The position will help drive continuous improvement across the FP&A function including system improvement, planning and other process improvements, whilst also playing a key role in supporting our strategic decision-making.

Reporting to the Group Manager of FP&A Corporate & Reporting, the Senior Analyst will support the Group and Corporate functions in executing budgeting and forecasting processes, while serving as a key contributor to management, board, and external market reporting. You will deliver actionable insights that enable the business to effectively manage key operational and financial risks and identify opportunities to enhance value.

This is a permanent full-time role based at our West Perth office, conveniently located near the City West train station.

Key responsibilities

  • Support the organisational planning and reporting cycle, ensuring smooth execution of monthly, quarterly, and annual processes
  • Provide robust financial analysis supporting quarterly and half year external reporting
  • Prepare Management and Board Reporting presentations, analysing financial and operational results, measurement of performance metrics and surfacing of underlying business drivers that enable stakeholders to make informed decisions
  • Analyse key business drivers, trends and variances against budget, forecast and prior periods
  • Prepare Board reporting and presentations supporting budget approval and business performance updates
  • Perform ad-hoc analysis and make informed recommendations on key business decisions
  • Build strong relationships with corporate functions to become a trusted business partner
  • Contribute to driving a best-in-class FP&A function, improving reporting systems, processes, and procedures
  • Drive continuous improvement across budgeting and forecasting, reporting and ad hoc analytical processes to enhance efficiency and effectiveness
  • Identify and drive automation of manual processes to drive efficiency and reliability of financial data

About you

  • Tertiary qualified in Commerce or Business undergraduate along with CA/CPA qualification
  • 4+ years post-graduate experience in FP&A, Management accounting or CFO advisory, ideally within the mining and resources sector
  • Self-starter who enjoys working as part of a team and with the ability to work autonomously when required
  • Financial modelling skills with ability to develop robust, well-structured financial analysis and reports
  • Analytical mindset with high attention to detail and the ability to communicate complex information clearly
  • Exposure to Pronto, Anaplan, Power BI highly regarded, along with a mindset of continuous improvement and AI adoption to drive process automation.
  • Proven stakeholder management and business partnering capability
