As an Engineer, you’re not just maintaining the hotel’s physical safety and functionality – you’re spreading the light and warmth of hospitality by delivering memorable experiences that make the stay for every guest.

Here's what you'll do during a typical day:

  • Maintain hotel facilities: Ensure physical functionality and safety of the property, including guest rooms, public spaces, and heart-of-house areas
  • Compliance to local legal and company engineering standards: Ensure thatall standards, policies and procedures are strictly adhered to;Ensurethe maintenance of a status file on all Licenses, Inspection dates, Certificates, Contracts, expiry and renewal dates for all major equipment and services.
  • Lead the POMEC team: Provides direction and all necessary tools and equipment for the execution of the team's duties
  • Training and Development: Ensure that all Team Members are adequately trained and aware of any appropriate training activity so as to take advantage of development opportunities
  • Respond to service requests: Quickly handle guest calls and team member work orders
  • Monitor a variety of maintenance tasks: Ensure repairs and maintenance across various areas, including carpentry, plumbing, electrical, HVAC, and masonry
  • Conduct preventive maintenance inspections: Regularly inspect facilities and equipment to identify and address preventive maintenance needs
  • Document maintenance activities: Record completed inspections and repairs and flag any issues requiring further attention.
  • Preventative Maintenance: Ensure that the Preventive Maintenance Program is on schedule.
  • Work Orders: Follow-up on the status of work orders to ensure timely and satisfactory completion
  • Energy Conservation: Promote and monitor the Hotel’s Energy Conservation Plan
  • Monitor Contract Labour: Monitor the quality of work done by the Sub-Contractors
