RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Continuously improve the safety culture of the site.
- Operate Multi Loader/LHD equipment safely and efficiently in accordance with company procedures and operating standards.
- Load, transport, and dump ore, waste rock, and other materials to designated underground and surface locations.
- Feed ore passes, crushers, stockpiles, and other designated discharge points.
- Maximize loading and hauling productivity while minimizing cycle times.
- Ensure efficient material handling to support development and production activities.
- Minimize ore dilution and material losses during loading operations.
- Conduct pre-start, operational, and post-shift inspections of assigned equipment.
- Check fuel, oil, hydraulic fluid, coolant levels, tires, brakes, and other critical components.
- Identify and promptly report equipment defects, malfunctions, or maintenance requirements.
- Maintain equipment cleanliness and ensure it remains in a safe operating condition.
- Complete inspection checklists and equipment logbooks accurately.
- Comply with all Health, Safety, Environment and Sustainability (HSE&S) standards and procedures.
- Participate in pre-task risk assessments, toolbox talks, and safety meetings.
- Identify and report workplace hazards, unsafe acts, and unsafe conditions.
- Adhere to underground traffic management rules and site operating procedures.
- Stop work immediately when unsafe conditions are identified.
- Promote and support the company's Zero Harm safety culture.
- Support underground development and production teams as directed by supervisors.
- Assist in mucking activities following drilling and blasting operations.
- Maintain housekeeping standards in work areas and operating zones.
- Assist with material transport and other mining-related activities when required.
- Perform additional duties assigned by the Underground Mining Supervisor.
- Maintain effective communication with supervisors, dispatch personnel, and fellow operators.
- Report incidents, equipment failures, and production delays promptly.
- Provide accurate shift handover information to incoming operators.
- Complete all operational reports and production records accurately and on time.
- Other duties as required
- Compliance with ISO 14001 and 45001 Standards.
QUALIFICATION & REQUIREMENTS:
- Education: High School Diploma or equivalent qualification.
- Certifications: Technical or vocational training in Heavy Equipment Operation, Mining Operations, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field is advantageous.
EXPERIENCE & SKILLS REQUIREMENTS:
- Experience: Minimum of 3 to 5 years' experience operating LHD, Scooptram, or Multi Loader equipment in an underground mining environment.
- Experience in mechanized underground mining operations is highly desirable.
- Proven experience in ore and waste handling activities.
- Previous experience in a gold mining operation is an added advantage.
- Ability to work independently in a remote setting.
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
- Efficiency with Microsoft word, outlook, PowerPoint and access.
- English fluency is an asset.
