Technica is seeking to hire a Warehouse Specialist to support work at DLA Djibouti. This position requires relocation to Djibouti. Travel, housing and per diem provided.
Position Summary:
Must have the capability and training to receive, issue, and prepare for shipment hazardous materials. Key duties include inspecting and documenting incoming materials, stowing hazmat in designated areas, preparing shipments, conducting inventories, and ensuring compliance with safety and packaging standards while using Material Handling Equipment (MHE).
Requires successful completion of OSHA compliance training and Hazardous Materials Preparer Certification IAW Defense Transportation Regulation (DTR) Part II, Cargo Movement, Chapter 204-7, Training, DLAI 4145.3 Preparing Hazardous Material for Military Air Shipment, and DLAI 1307 Hazardous Material (HAZMAT) Training for Packaging and Transportation Personnel Process Guidance prior to the beginning of full performance. (See TE 4.1, Contractor Training).
Uses WMS and other Government Data Systems to perform the requirements in the PWS. The Warehouse Specialist Hazmat handles, stores, and ships hazardous materials.
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Perform all duties for receiving, stowing, picking, and shipping materials, including working with hazardous materials and using Material Handling Equipment (MHE).
- Identify, examine, classify, and accept or reject materials based on DLA regulations and established procedures.
- Perform physical inventories, maintain stock records, identify discrepancies, and report damaged or expired materials.
- Pack, preserve, and prepare hazmat for shipping, completing required documentation.
- Input and receive data from various Warehouse Management automated supply systems WMS.
- Adhere to all government and company policies and procedures, maintaining a safe and secure work environment while wearing appropriate protective equipment.
- Must be able to adjust work operations to meet emergency or changing Task Order or production requirements within available resources and with minimum sacrifice to quantity and quality of work
Qualifications:
- High School Diploma or GED.
- Must be a U.S citizen.
- Hazmat Certified with the ability to identify, classify, and handle hazardous materials.
- Proficiency with automated Warehouse Management supply systems (WMS).
- Ability to operate Material Handling Equipment (MHE).
- Physical fitness and ability to work in various conditions, including inclement weather.
- Ability to acquire and maintain a Secret security clearance
- Must be able to pass pre-employment drug screen and background check
