Wärtsilä Finland Oy, Delivery Centre Sustainable Technology Hub, is looking for an On-call Trainee for Operative Purchasing. The position is a temporary position for about 6 months (0-25 hours/week) and the location is Vaasa, Finland. The person selected for this role needs to be a full-time student studying for a degree in Finland.

Your role and responsibilities

As an On-call Trainee, you will work in an assistive role to secure on-time material availability and to optimize the inventory levels together with operative purchasers and in collaboration with several different stakeholders with diverse expertise.

Your work will focus on assisting with these responsibilities:

  • Ensure the right amount of required material to be available when needed
  • Forecasting, requirement and delivery planning, ordering and order monitoring for an assigned component portfolio
  • Manage and measure supplier quality level
  • Manage document revisions for suppliers
  • Maintain and develop material master data
  • Optimize the inventory turnover
  • Other tasks related to operative purchasing

To be able to succeed in the position, we expect you to have:

  • Studies and interest in Engineering, Economics, Supply Chain Management, or similar
  • Good communication, teamwork, and social skills
  • A systematic and proactive approach to working
  • Good problem-solving skills
  • Good PC skills (e.g. SAP, Power BI, advanced Excel)
  • Fluency in spoken and written Finnish and English
  • Interest in process development and data analytics is seen as an advantage
