Description

To install domestic electrical whole current meters at customer installations across the island of Guernsey. The work is normally carried out in customer premises in accordance with set health & safety rules and GEL procedures. As well as being technically minded the post holder must be able to deal with the customers in a polite and effective manner.

Key Responsibilities

1. To replace domestic electricity meters safely and efficiently as part of the Domestic Meter Rollout Programme.
2. To carry out all work in accordance with Company procedures, training and safety requirements.
3. To identify and report any unsafe, damaged or unusual installations.
4. To provide a professional and courteous service to customers at all times.
5. To accurately record work completed and maintain up-to-date customer and asset records.
6. To maintain Company vehicles, tools, equipment and stock in a safe and serviceable condition.
7. To complete all required administration, training and competency assessments.
8. To escalate any work outside the scope of the role to the Team Leader.

· Good practical skills and attention to detail.

· Ability to follow instructions, procedures and safe working practices.

· Commitment to health and safety, including completing risk assessments.

· Basic computer skills and confidence using handheld/mobile devices.

· Professional and courteous approach when dealing with customers and colleagues.

· Reliable, organised and able to work independently.

· Positive attitude and willingness to learn new skills.

· Good communication and teamwork skills.

· Ability to achieve competency sign-off for domestic meter installation activities.

· Full Category B driving licence.
