Works Train Controller

Responsibilities

  • Act as the officer-in-charge of the works train operations for the Tung Chung Line Extension (TUE) Project
  • Lead a team of works train staff and coordinate with Railway Segment to look after the track related installation works and arrange effective deployment of manpower and resources to meet works train requirements
  • Develop and issue the test train programme upon the commissioning and functioning of test trains and railway trackside equipment
  • Coordinate and publish internal notice and to participate in regular meetings for the safe and effective running of works trains
  • Formulate the operating procedures, instructions, safety rules and protection requirements plan for access to Defined / Restricted Area or pedestrian works, and lead the safety and functional trainings for works train related staff and contractors
  • Coordinate and work closely with projects team and contractors to ensure their activities are in compliance with the Works Train Manual and operations requirements
  • Regulate and monitor works train movements and defects, incident investigations, ad hoc changes on works train requirement and arrangements etc.
  • Participate in the pre-operations set up and preparation works upon completion of the construction work and prior to revenue operations

Requirements

  • HKALE level or possess Grade C / Level 3 / "Attained with Distinction" in 5 subjects of HKDSE (including English and Chinese Languages), preferably a degree holder
  • A minimum of 5 years’ railway working experience of which 2 years must be at supervisory level
  • Possession of Membership of the Chartered Institute of Logistics and Transport or equivalent is preferred
  • Good knowledge and experience in works train operations and in train operations control of operating lines are advantageous

Remarks

  • Candidates with lower qualification but extensive experience will also be considered
