Principal Civil/Structural Engineer

Wood (trading locally as WOOD KSS LLP) is looking to hire Principal Civil/Structural Engineer (KZ Passport holders) with extensive experience in the oil and gas petrochemical industry to join our Operations business, based in Atyrau, Kazakhstan.

• Perform computer aided and manual structural analysis, design, for all types of concrete and steel structures in accordance with RoK Standards and Codes (Eurocodes);

• Analyse and design concrete foundations for all types of buildings and structures in accordance with RoK Standards and Codes (Eurocodes)

• Attend meetings and communicates effectively with members of the CSA group and other disciplines to understand the design requirements, limitations and optimisations as requested by the Lead Engineer

• Check calculations and designs by more junior engineers and provide feedback to encourage them to improve their engineering skills

• Provide input to Basis of Design, Design Reports and FEED studies. Prepare Job Packs and Material Requisitions

• Signing of drawings & key documents

• Produce CTR’s as required

• Perform site surveys and site inspections as required

• Provides technical guidance to designers and less experienced engineers and is consulted extensively by associates and others

• Provides mature engineering judgment in anticipating and solving engineering problems efficiently and economically

• May be requested for inputs into technical bids

• Provide input to evaluate vendors technical bid offers

• Without being released from his/her main job shall perform the duties of (replace) temporary absent line managers and employees of the same function/department

• Higher (technical) education

• Work experience in the respective position no less than 5 years

• Proficient user of relevant software and calculation templates

• Professional level of ability in the application of standards, processes, and procedures and how they are used in work execution

• Professional level of knowledge of applicable codes and standards

• Technically competent in own discipline, pursues continuous professional development of skills and knowledge according to standards

• Maintains own knowledge of relevant regulatory framework, legislation changes, initiatives and industry technology developments and promotes to direct reports

• Applies professional knowledge and experience to assignments where issues and factors to be considered may be characterized by unusual demands and require additional evaluation to establish the nature and scope of the problem

• Demonstrated ability to apply advanced laws, principles, mathematics or industry knowledge in the improvement and development of designs
