We are on the lookout for:

Job vacancy: Finance Assistant

As a Finance Assistant, you will provide professional financial advisory support to the Blue Penny Museum by ensuring accurate financial reporting, budget monitoring, financial controls and compliance, while advising management on financial performance, cost optimisation and sustainability of museum operations.

In this role you will,

  • Prepare and maintain accurate financial records, including general ledger entries, reconciliations and month end close activities;
  • Ensure accurate and timely recording of transactions within the accounting system, including maintaining master data, ledgers and supporting documentation in line with internal controls;
  • Produce periodic financial reports (management accounts, variance analyses, cost reports) for museum management and work closely with BPM finance Partner for Group consolidation;
  • Ensure compliance with internal financial policies, accounting standards and applicable regulatory requirements;
  • Maintain effective financial controls, identifying and escalating instances of non-compliance or financial risk;
  • Support internal and external audits by preparing documentation and responding to audit queries;
  • Prepare, review and submit statutory and tax-related returns (e.g. VAT, TDS or other applicable filings), ensuring accuracy, completeness and compliance with legislative deadlines;
  • Prepare financial content for management and governance reporting, including board packs, financial dashboards and presentation materials, and support management in responding to board or committee queries;
  • Make recommendations on financial matters within defined policies and budgets.

  • Communicating the status and completion of assignments.

We are looking for candidates who have:

EITHER

  • Currently pursuing ACCA and having successfully completed Level 1, with progress towards Level 2, or holding an equivalent professional qualification;
  • 3 years’ proven accounting experience with local firms and companies

OR

  • Currently pursuing ACCA Level 1 or an equivalent professional qualification;
  • 5 years’ proven accounting experience with local firms and companies

A combination of both qualification & experience will be considered.

Candidates who possess the following qualifications will also be considered:

Proficiency in Excel and strong computer literacy
