Winter Sea Kayaking Guide

Are you an experienced sea kayaker who enjoys working with people and feels confident leading groups independently?

Destination Tromsø is looking for a Winter Sea Kayaking Guide to join our team for the 2026/2027 winter season.

As part of the role, you will lead guided sea kayaking tours in the Arctic surroundings of Tromsø. You will be responsible for preparing equipment, briefing guests, assessing weather and sea conditions, managing safety on the water and creating a memorable experience for visitors from around the world.

We are looking for someone who:

• Has completed at least one full season as an independent guide, running tours without direct supervision
• Holds a minimum BCU 3 Star qualification; or European Paddle Pass Level 3; or has equivalent sea kayaking experience.
• Applicants with extensive relevant experience will still be considered, even if they do not hold any of the above mentioned certifications.
• Is comfortable making independent safety decisions in changing Arctic conditions
• Has a valid First Aid certificate, preferably; if needed, this can be arranged through the company
• Is friendly, reliable and confident working with international guests

Practical information

• 100% seasonal position
• November 2026 – March 2027
• Training begins the last weekend of October, so availability from late October is required
• Based in Tromsø, Norway
• Accommodation is not provided
