Assistant Chief Steward

We are looking for a motivated and experienced Assistant Chief Steward to manage the daily operations of the Stewarding Department. The successful candidate will help ensure the highest standards of cleanliness, hygiene, sanitation, and operational efficiency across the kitchen, back-of-house areas, equipment, and utensils.

The Assistant Chief Steward will supervise stewarding team members, coordinate daily duties, monitor hygiene standards, and ensure all kitchen equipment and service areas are maintained in excellent condition.

A little taste of your day-to-day:

Every day is different, but you’ll mostly be:

• Supervise and coordinate the stewarding team and allocate daily duties.
• Ensure high standards of cleanliness, hygiene, and sanitation in all kitchen and back-of-house areas.
• Ensure proper cleaning and handling of crockery, cutlery, kitchen equipment, and utensils.
• Monitor the use and stock of cleaning chemicals and stewarding supplies.
• Ensure proper waste disposal and maintain a clean and organized working environment.
• Support staff training, scheduling, and performance monitoring.
• Coordinate with Kitchen, F&B, and other departments to ensure smooth daily operations.
• Ensure compliance with food safety, health, safety, and company standards.

What We need from you:

• Previous experience in a Stewarding/Senior Steward role within a hotel, resort, restaurant, or hospitality environment.
• Previous supervisory experience is highly preferred.
• Good knowledge of hygiene, sanitation, and cleaning procedures.
• Strong leadership and communication skills.
• Ability to manage a team in a fast-paced environment.
• Reliable, hardworking, and able to work flexible shifts.
• Hospitality experience in a high-volume operation is an advantage.
