The role - Data Engineer Trainee

As a Data Engineer Trainee, you will join our data team and support the delivery of data engineering and analytics projects across cloud and on-premises environments. Working alongside experienced professionals, you will have the opportunity to develop your technical skills while contributing to real client projects.
Your main responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:

• Support the development and maintenance of data pipelines for data ingestion, transformation and integration
• Assist in preparing and transforming data from multiple sources to support analytics and reporting needs
• Contribute to the development of data models under the guidance of senior team members, ensuring data consistency and quality
• Help monitor and troubleshoot data processes, identifying and escalating issues when necessary
• Support the implementation of data quality and governance best practices
• Collaborate with project teams to understand business requirements and translate them into data solutions
• Participate in learning initiatives and technical training programmes focused on modern data platforms and cloud technologies.

Your profile

• BSc or MSc in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Systems, Mathematics, Data Science, or a related field
• Up to 1 year of professional experience in Data Engineering, Business Intelligence, Analytics or a related area, recent graduates are encouraged to apply
• Basic knowledge of SQL and Python for data manipulation and transformation
• Familiarity with cloud data platforms such as Microsoft Azure, Microsoft Fabric or Databricks is valued
• Understanding of fundamental data concepts, including databases, ETL/ELT processes and data modelling
• Interest in data engineering, cloud technologies and modern analytics platforms
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with a proactive mindset and willingness to learn
• Fluent in both written and spoken English and Portuguese.
