Overview / Responsibilites
Massy Wood is recruiting for a Project Engineer with considerable experience in the oil and gas industry.
The Project Engineer is responsible for the delivery of an integrated Engineering, Procurement and Project / Construction Management Service to the various Contract Clients. In addition to the Technical aspects this includes maintaining good business relationships built on a foundation of reliable performance and earned respect.
Technical
- Responsible for managing technical, commercial and execution changes that may impact project cost and schedule.
- Responsible for facilitating meetings, discussions and interfaces which are critical to the delivery of the project and ensuring all Minutes, Actions and notes are recorded per the contractual requirements.
- Responsible for ensuring the project is managed within the parameters set out by the key global execution standards.
- Co-ordinate and manage all interfaces required to deliver a complete product to the Client, including Engineering, Procurement, Construction, CSU and ORA and third Party Services.
- Ensure awareness, understanding and compliance with the Business Policies and Procedures.
- Ensure awareness, understanding and delivery of Contractual obligations set out in the individual service Contracts.
- Co-ordinate the development and performance management of all aspects associated with the various WBS Scopes of Work from inception through to completion.
- Develop and coordinate of baseline schedules, progress measurement and reporting for the various WBS Scopes of Work.
- Develop and coordinate of the estimates, expenditure, forecasts and reporting for the various WBS Scopes of Work.
- Take personal responsibility for promoting and supporting continuous improvement activities within all aspects of the business under their sphere of influence.
- Actively seek to develop and maintain business relationships based on open and honest communication underpinned by reliable proactive performance, expectation management and earned respect.
- Proactively facilitate the resolution of cross discipline technical issues.
- Motivate and develop a high performing team with a ‘be safe’ and ‘mistake free’ culture and a drive for continuous improvement.
- Performs all other related job functions as required.
Qualifications
Education & Formal Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering or related discipline from a recognized university.
- PMP Certification would be an asset.
Competencies & Experience:
- Minimum of three (3) years’ experience in engineering/ construction / supervision in oil and gas industry.
- Good verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to provide direction to and supervise others.
- Self-motivated with the ability to work unsupervised.
- Ability to work in a Team environment.
- Ability to work to tight deadlines.
- Ability to work well with external and internal customers.
- Foundation skills in a relevant technical discipline.
- Solid knowledge of Project Management practices and procedures.
- Police Certificate of Good Character (must not be older than 6 months)
