Brisbane | Hybrid Working | Contract Opportunity

QIC is seeking a talented Financial Accountant to join our Australian Real Estate Finance team on a fixed-term contract through to October 2027. This is an exceptional opportunity to apply your financial accounting expertise within a sophisticated property and funds management environment, supporting a diverse portfolio of real estate investments.

Working alongside experienced finance professionals in a collaborative team environment, you'll play a key role in delivering financial accounting and reporting, compliance services, and investment accounting oversight while contributing to a culture of collaboration, innovation, and continuous improvement.

About the Role

As an Accountant in our Australian Real Estate Finance team, you’ll:

  • Prepare accurate and high-quality financial accounting workpapers and insights via regular monthly and quarterly activities.
  • Support the real estate investment valuation processes, and correct accounting for investment properties.
  • Navigate a diverse stakeholder group with high expectations for data and information.
  • Account for acquisitions and disposals, development and master planning activities, and manage monthly BAS lodgements.
  • Reconcile daily cash transactions, with strong follow through and resolution of reconciling items.
  • Identify opportunities for process improvement and contribute to ongoing operational excellence initiatives, with the latest AI tools at your fingertips.
  • Interact with outsourced investment accounting providers, maintaining high standards of accuracy, governance, and compliance.

About You

You are a technically strong accountant who enjoys working in a dynamic and collaborative environment. You will bring:

  • A degree in Accounting, Commerce, Finance, or a related discipline.
  • CA or CPA qualification.
  • Experience in financial accounting, property or fund accounting environments.
  • Strong knowledge of Australian Accounting Standards, financial reporting, tax compliance and control requirements.
  • Excellent attention to detail and analytical skills.
  • The ability to build strong stakeholder relationships and communicate effectively across teams.
  • A proactive mindset with a commitment to delivering high-quality outcomes.
