We are seeking an experienced Paralegal Consultant to support strategically important European programs, consortium-based initiatives, and complex bid activities.This role sits at the intersection of legal, business, and partnership management activities. The successful candidate will help shape and support legal frameworks surrounding bids and funded programs, represent iDirect in discussions with consortium partners, and ensure that all contractual and compliance-related documentation is managed effectively.The ideal candidate combines a solid legal background with strong stakeholder management skills and practical experience in European funding programs. They should be comfortable discussing consortium structures, intellectual property arrangements, funding requirements, and procurement obligations, while also ensuring that the necessary legal documentation is executed and maintained.
This is not a purely administrative paralegal role. We are looking for someone who can quickly become a trusted partner to our Legal, Bid, and Program teams and contribute from day one.
Responsibilities
Strategic Legal Support & Program Frameworks
- Support the Legal Counsel and bid teams on the legal aspects of European-funded programs and consortium-based initiatives.
- Advise on consortium structures, governance frameworks, and participation models.
- Support discussions related to intellectual property ownership, exploitation rights, and data-sharing arrangements.
- Provide guidance on eligibility requirements, funding mechanisms, and contractual obligations associated with EU-funded programs.
- Contribute to the assessment and mitigation of legal and contractual risks throughout the bid lifecycle.
- Support the interpretation and application of EU procurement requirements and contractual frameworks where relevant.
Consortium & Partner Engagement
- Act as a legal point of contact towards consortium partners, subcontractors, universities, research institutes, customers, and other stakeholders.
- Represent iDirect in discussions relating to legal, contractual, and compliance matters during proposal preparation and program execution.
- Coordinate negotiations and alignment with consortium members regarding legal documentation and contractual arrangements.
- Facilitate collaboration between internal stakeholders and external partners to ensure timely and compliant bid submissions.
- Build strong working relationships across multinational partner ecosystems involved in European programs.
Bid Documentation & Contract Management
- Coordinate and manage all legal and contractual documentation associated with bids and funded programs.
- Draft, review, track, and administer:
- Non-Disclosure Agreements (NDAs)
- Teaming Agreements
- Consortium Agreements
- Subcontractor Agreements
- Partner Agreements
- Grant-related documentation
- Customer and commercial contracts
- Manage eligibility documentation and supporting evidence required for bid submissions.
- Maintain document repositories, governance processes, and version control.
- Ensure contractual deliverables and documentation are completed accurately and on time.
Additional Global Legal Support
- Support the Global Legal Team with the preparation, review, coordination, and administration of a wide range of commercial and contractual agreements, including:
- Non-Disclosure Agreements (NDAs)
- Memoranda of Understanding (MoUs)
- Teaming Agreements
- Reseller Agreements
- Subcontractor Agreements
- Partner Agreements
- Other commercial contracts and legal documentation as required
- Coordinate contract execution and approvals across internal stakeholders and external partners.
- Contribute to contract lifecycle management and ensure documentation is accurately maintained within legal systems and repositories
Qualifications
Ideal Candidate
We are looking for someone who combines legal expertise with strong business partnering capabilities. The successful consultant will be equally comfortable discussing IP provisions or consortium governance with senior stakeholders as they are managing NDAs, eligibility documentation, and contractual records. They are proactive, structured, and pragmatic, capable of operating independently while building credibility with both internal teams and external partners. Being based in Belgium is strongly preferred to facilitate close collaboration with our Legal, Bid, and Program teams.
