Geologist

To observe, collect, record, analyze, and report geological information within assigned areas, primarily supporting underground mine development and production activities. The role provides accurate, timely, and reliable geological data to support resource evaluation, reserve estimation, mine planning, and operational decision-making.

The key duties and responsibilities of this position are:

  1. Conduct geological observations and collect geological data in designated production and development areas, with a primary focus on KL underground mine and/or other assigned locations.
  2. Perform geological mapping, logging, sampling, and documentation in accordance with approved geological standards and procedures.
  3. Complete approved geological mapping, sampling, and logging forms accurately and in a timely manner.
  4. Ensure collected geological data meets quality standards and is suitable for inclusion in company geological databases
  5. Prepare and submit daily, weekly, monthly, and ad hoc reports as required by management.
  6. Maintain accurate records of geological activities, progress against work plans, and achievement of departmental objectives
  7. Prepare technical geological observations and findings in written formats for further compilation, analysis, interpretation, and resource evaluation.
  8. Support geological modeling and resource/reserve estimation through accurate field data collection.
  9. Demonstrate commitment to company safety, health, and environmental standards.
  10. Apply safe work practices at all times and actively contribute to maintaining a safe work environment.
  11. Ensure compliance with all applicable Company Safety and Environmental SOPs.

Minimum Education and Experience

Bachelor's Degree (S1) in Geology, Geoscience, or a related discipline with minimum 2 years of experience in mineral exploration, mining geology, or related geological activities.

Technical Core Competencies (Knowledge & Skills)

  • Sound understanding of geological principles, theories, and mineral deposit processes.

  • Proficiency in geological mapping, sampling, core logging, and data recording techniques.

  • Ability to identify rock types, minerals, alteration, and geological structures.

  • Familiarity with geological database management and reporting systems.

  • Understanding of mining safety and environmental requirements.
