QA & Data Quality Engineer

About the role

At Evoke, you’ll join our advanced Data Technologies Group and work with data at scale.

Our mission is to make data easily accessible, reliable, and actionable for stakeholders across the company. As part of the Game Development team, you’ll contribute to the backend data ecosystem, working with data from a wide range of sources while ensuring quality, accuracy, performance, and reliability in production.

We’re looking for a QA & Data Quality Engineer to join our Data Technologies Group. In this role, you’ll help ensure our data products meet the highest quality standards.

What you will be doing:

• Test and approve ETL processes and database (DB) scripts to ensure accuracy, reliability, and performance.
• Build testing scripts, simulations, and automation based on design and technical documentation.
• Develop and execute data quality tests to validate data integrity and consistency across the data pipeline.
• Apply BDD methodologies, including creating STD documents and feature files.
• Troubleshoot identified development issues and perform root cause analysis to identify and resolve data and application defects.
• Read, analyze, and translate product and development documentation into effective test scenarios and validation processes.
• Work closely with development and data teams to identify issues and continuously improve data quality and testing processes.
• Support task delivery and maintenance in the production environment.

Requirements

Who we are looking for:

• Hands-on experience writing SQL queries and scripts.
• Experience working with large-scale Data Warehouse (DWH) environments.
• Experience with ETL testing methodologies.
• Experience with data quality testing, testing scripts, and automation.
• Experience with BDD methodology, STD documents, and feature file creation.
• Ability to read, understand, and analyze product and development documentation.
• Good English communication skills, both written and verbal.
• A highly motivated, independent, and proactive approach to your work.

It’s a plus if you have:

• Experience working with Snowflake.
• Experience with SSIS.
• Experience with Python.
• Understanding of CI/CD concepts.
• Experience working in an Agile environment.
