Key Responsibilities

Design and develop robust, scalable RESTful APIs and microservices using Java, Spring, and Spring Boot
Package and deploy applications using containerisation (Docker), following best practices for image creation and environment portability
Collaborate with front-end developers, architects, and product owners to deliver high-quality software increments
Participate in code reviews, providing and receiving constructive feedback to maintain code quality
Write unit, integration, and component tests to ensure reliability and regression coverage
Contribute to CI/CD pipelines and support deployment processes
Identify, diagnose, and resolve performance bottlenecks and production issues
Maintain clear technical documentation for services and APIs

Code quality — writing clean, maintainable, well-tested code with appropriate test coverage
Version control — confident use of Git, branching strategies, and pull request workflows
Agile delivery — comfortable working in sprint-based teams; familiar with scrum or kanban practices
Communication — able to articulate technical decisions clearly to both technical and non-technical stakeholders
Ownership — takes responsibility for features end-to-end, from development through to production
