We are looking for a Maintenance Planner to join our team working for a sustainable future.
The preferred location for this position is in Kobe, Japan, with the flexibility of remote working options.
What you will be doing
The position involves a main responsibility of maintenance planning support towards long term service agreements in Marine 4-stroke portfolio. Your work will include providing quarterly reports, budgets & scope of work for overhauls, following up on performed services and updating the supporting software tools accordingly. The tasks can also be adjusted based on your individual skills and interests. You’ll be working as a part of our energetic maintenance management team with diverse expertise.
As a Maintenance Planner, your work will focus on these responsibilities:
- Preparing maintenance plan for each contract in the assigned area of responsibility.
- Planning and coordinating scheduled and unscheduled maintenance and overhauls.
- Planning the resources and competences for execution of field work.
- Building and maintaining good communication with Contract Managers and customers, external providers and other stakeholders in the Wärtsilä organization.
- Follow up executed and postponed maintenance tasks and improvements.
- Preparing and monitoring maintenance budget for the annual contract budgeting on behalf of the customer.
- Assisting in the development of our tools.
To be successful in this role, we expect you to have:
- A Bachelor's degree (B.Sc.) in Mechanical Engineering, Production Engineering, or an equivalent discipline.
- Sound theoretical knowledge of 4-stroke diesel engines and their operating principles.
- Basic proficiency in IT applications and software tools, including Microsoft 365.
- Strong collaboration, teamwork, and communication skills, with the ability to work effectively in a multicultural environment.
- Fluency in both written and spoken English and Japanese.
- Flexibility and willingness to travel, when required, to support business and operational needs.
As an ideal candidate you might also have:
- Hands-on field service experience with marine 4-stroke engines.
- Working knowledge of Computerized Maintenance Management Systems (CMMS) and Planned Maintenance Systems (PMS), such as IBM Maximo or equivalent platforms.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to engage effectively with customers and internal stakeholders.
- A good understanding of contractual agreements, service delivery requirements, and the financial aspects of maintenance and service operations.
