Digital Merchandising Lead
- American Eagle Outfitters Inc.
- Mexico
- MXN 400,000 – MXN 600,000
POSITION SUMMARY:
We are seeking a strategic, detail-oriented, and results-driven Site Merch Lead to join our e-commerce team [1, 4]. In this role, you will lead the localized content strategy and site merchandising operations for our Mexico digital channels [7]. Acting as the key driver for the localization and transition of processes from the US team to the Mexico team, you will oversee the digital customer journey across both web and app platforms to drive conversion, revenue, and operational efficiency [7, 8].
The successful candidate will manage daily site content builds, optimize product discoverability and page sorting logic, and lead a cross-functional workflow that reduces dependencies on global assets while catering specifically to the Mexican market [7]. This is a pivotal role for establishing independent local timelines and pushing boundaries in testing and execution [7].
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Process Localization & Transition Leadership
• Workflow Ownership: Lead the end-to-end transition of content and site merchandising tasks from the US team to the MX local team [7].
• CFT Coordination: Design and manage localized cross-functional team (CFT) timelines, reducing the need for cross-referencing handoffs with international teams [7].
• Schedule Control: Establish and manage independent push schedules and Quality Assurance (QA) windows tailored to MX local workflows, bandwidth, and holidays/PTO [7].
Site Merchandising & Optimization (Bloomreach Tool)
• Page Sort Updates: Oversee and implement page sort updates using Bloomreach, replacing US logic with MX-specific sorting rules to improve conversion [7].
• A/B Testing: Plan and execute ongoing A/B testing of sort models and page sorts to optimize the customer browsing experience [7].
• Dynamic Content: Lead dynamic page creation, facet setup for new pages, and manage site exclusions and different go-live dates [7].
• Promotional Execution: Coordinate promotion setups (e.g., product-specific promos like the "Undie promo") on the site [7].
Content Management & Operations (Contentstack Tool)
• Module Builds: Direct and coordinate daily and seasonal homepage (HP) module builds, category banners, marketing tiles, and APP modules [7].
• Local Asset Control: Supervise the build of visual modules, gift guides, and bubble navigation, eliminating dependencies on US assets to cater specifically to the MX brand identity [7].
• App & Offers Merchandising: Oversee the setup of Brand Cards on the APP and "Today's Offers" to ensure a consistent, timely promotional push [7].
Navigation & Search Experience
• Discoverability: Manage and optimize multi-device navigation structures, including flyouts, app navigation, and vanity URLs to provide high product discoverability and localized navigation paths [3, 7].
• Link Management: Manage link handoffs from copy/translation through go-live within targeted SLAs (e.g., 24-hour windows) [7].
Quality Assurance & Performance Tracking
• Rigorous QA: Define and manage rigorous site and app QA workflows to ensure error-free promotional launches, correct image placements, and accurate sorting logic [3, 7].
• Metric Reporting: Monitor and report on key digital performance indicators such as digital revenue growth, Average Unit Retail (AUR) vs. last year (LY), and page conversion rates to measure the efficacy of merchandising strategies [3, 7, 8].
Requirements
Education: Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Business, E-commerce, or a related field.
Experience: 1- 3 years of experience in e-commerce, retail, content management, or site merchandising, with demonstrated experience leading workflows or small teams.
Platform & Technical Skills: Extensive experience with Content Management Systems (CMS) and Site Merchandising platforms, specifically Contentstack and Bloomreach.
High proficiency in Excel for tracking and analyzing data.
Adaptability & Transition Management: Exceptional ability to manage multiple tasks and transition workflows across cross-functional and global teams in a fast-paced environment.
Attention to Detail: High accuracy in managing complex link handoffs, facet setups, and QA protocols.
Communication: Outstanding bilingual (Spanish/English) communication skills to collaborate effectively with both local MX and US corporate teams.
Preferred (Nice-to-Have)
A/B Testing Experience: Prior experience designing, executing, and evaluating A/B tests on search or sorting algorithms (ideally using Bloomreach).
Analytical Mindset: Familiarity with data analytics tools to monitor and report on digital performance metrics like Revenue and AUR vs. Last Year.
Passion: A genuine interest in localizing digital shopping experiences and evolving trends in Latin American e-commerce.
Experience: Previous internship or 0–1 years of experience in e-commerce, retail, or marketplace management.
Platform Knowledge: Basic understanding of marketplace seller tools (e.g., Amazon Seller Central, Mercado Libre Publicaciones, or TikTok Shop Seller Center).
Analytics: Familiarity with Google Analytics or marketplace-specific analytics tools.
Passion: A genuine interest in online retail and the evolving landscape of social commerce
