At Tauranga City Council, we are embedding how data, insights and technology support one of New Zealand's fastest-growing cities. Data and analytics play a critical role in helping Council understand performance, plan for the future, and make informed decisions that deliver value for our communities.
We are looking for an experienced Senior Business Analyst to join our Business Intelligence team.
This is an exciting opportunity to work across a diverse range of business domains, helping stakeholders define what success looks like, uncover opportunities for improvement, and translate business needs into trusted, reusable and decision-focused data solutions.
We are not looking for someone who simply documents requirements. We are looking for someone who can challenge thinking, facilitate meaningful conversations, influence decision making, and help shape the right data and reporting solutions for the organisation.
Why Join Us?
At Tauranga City Council, you'll be part of a highly experienced Business Intelligence team that exists to help the organisation make better decisions through data.
You'll work alongside Report and Front End Developers, Data Engineers, GIS specialists and analytics professionals to deliver solutions that support strategic planning, organisation performance and improved outcomes for our communities.
This is an opportunity to influence how data is used across the organisation, contribute to the continued evolution of our analytics platform, and help drive future focused solutions.
If you enjoy solving complex problems, partnering with stakeholders and delivering solutions that create genuine business value, we'd love to hear from you.

Work closely with stakeholders to understand business challenges, opportunities and desired outcomes.
Lead discovery, workshops and requirements elicitation activities for data and analytics initiatives.

Provide trusted advice on solution options, business impacts and opportunities to improve decision making.
Help stakeholders adopt and realise value from delivered solutions.
Contribute to continuous improvement in business analysis, analytics delivery and data-driven decision-making practices.
