Technical Associate

Norrsken Rwanda is delivering a 24-month programme under the African European Digital Innovation Bridge (AEDIB 2.0), funded by Expertise France. The programme supports Rwandan ventures through hands-on technical assistance and investment readiness support.

As Technical Associate, you will be at the heart of making the programme happen. You’ll coordinate venture diagnostics, connect founders with experts, track progress and help ensure that the right support reaches the right ventures at the right time.

This is a hands-on role for someone early in their career who is curious about startups, investment and impact, and enjoys working in a fast-paced environment where there’s always something to figure out.

Key responsibilities

• Coordinate venture diagnostics, including onboarding, data collection, scheduling and reports.
• Work closely with founders to develop and track action plans and milestones.
• Coordinate our expert network, matching specialists with venture needs and managing assignments and deliverables.
• Maintain programme data and tracking, ensuring information is accurate and up to date.
• Support monitoring and reporting to our programme partner, Expertise France.
• Support investor events, ecosystem masterclasses and other programme activities at Norrsken House Kigali.

What success looks like By the end of the contract, 10–15 ventures will have completed diagnostic reports and clear, founder-agreed workplans. Expert assignments will have been successfully delivered and verified, and the programme will have a strong, reliable evidence base to demonstrate its impact to Expertise France.

• You are organised, structured and execution-oriented, with the ability to manage several things at once.

• You are curious about startups, entrepreneurship and investment and excited to learn.
• You have strong communication and stakeholder management skills and enjoy working with different types of people.
• You are detail-oriented and comfortable working with data and spreadsheets.
• You are motivated by impact and Norrsken’s mission.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in business, finance, economics, development or a related field.
• 3–6 years of relevant experience.
• Strong written and spoken English.
• Strong organisational and project management skills.
• Right to work in Rwanda.

It’s a plus if you have:

• Experience or knowledge of the Rwandan/East African startup ecosystem.
• Exposure to finance, due diligence or investment readiness.
• Kinyarwanda and/or French.
• Experience working with donor-funded programmes.
