PRIMARY PURPOSE:

To design, model, analyze and test high-speed connectors and test fixtures. To act as a focal point in providing technical leadership across division. To work with customers to develop application specific solutions and provide technical support. Recognized by customers as a technical leader in the field of interconnects. To conduct research on new and emerging areas of interconnects science.

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

1. Discover and invent new techniques and methods in modeling, design, and measurement.

2. Champion technical leadership in system level analytical evaluations.

3. Lead technical discussion in developing major new products across division. Guides and directs the activities of multifunctional team(s) according to the priorities set by Engineering management.

4. Work with key customers to find solutions that meets their mechanical and electrical needs and implement solutions that creates greater value.

5. Perform high-speed empirical, analytical, signal integrity and power integrity evaluations of interconnects within transmission line environments.

6. Lead the design, build and qualification of test fixtures for the characterization of electrical interconnects.

7. Recommend changes in designs or technical procedures.

8. Conduct and coordinate analytical simulations for interconnect systems.

9. Provide development input to design teams, create electrical product models and documentation.

10. Analyze variation dependence and parametric optimization.

11. Work in laboratory environment to validate design and correlate measurement with simulations using VNA, TDR and Oscilloscope.

12. Perform other related duties as assigned by management.

EDUCATION:

REQUIRED: BSEE, BS Physics, or BS Applied Math

PREFERRED: MS and PHd in above deciplines.

WORK EXPERIENCE:

REQUIRED: · 18+ years design experience or 16+ years with MS or higher

PREFERRED: · 18-20

SKILLS & ABILITIES:

REQUIRED: Technical Team leadership Software Ansys HFSS & Designer, CST, Agilent ADS & PLTS, Matlab, ABIS-AMI Test and Measurement VNA, TDR Channel modeling and correlation, connector design and validation, standards committee participation, ability to mentor, technical papers published System architect

PREFERRED: Established records of invention such as patent ownership Established records of technical paper authorship Communications system and hardware engineering experience
