In New Taipei, Taiwan, we serve global clients in telecom and datacom industries in providing innovative optical modules to support our customer’s next generation networks. We are looking for a Senior Optical Process Engineer to join our team. This person will be responsible for optical system assembly process development for innovative fiber optical products, such as the optical frequency/Time domain reflectometry, optical performance monitor, weak optical coherent signal detection solutions that are used in telecom and datacom. This person will work with multi-discipline teams, including sales and marketing, product line managers, electrical, mechanical, and optical R&D teams, and work with colleagues of different geographic sites. What You Will Do
- With guidance from Sr. Engineers and managers, lead related team members on the fiber optical monitoring products’ process design and development. Especially, will be responsible for the optical system assembly process development of the optical frequency/time domain reflectors, optical performance monitor, weak and/or fast optical coherent signal detection solutions.
- Responsible for the calibration & performance testing of the OFDR, OTDR, OPM, etc. monitoring products with the testing engineer and the cooperating team.
- Responsible for the quality assurance and reliability testing of the OFDR, OTDR, OPM, etc. monitoring products with the reliability engineer and the cooperating team.
- Responsible for the continuous Improvements of the OFDR, OTDR, OPM, etc. monitoring products’ optical system process platforms.
- Provides technical support to technicians and peer engineers of the R&D team.
- Release drawings of the OFDR, OTDR, OPM, etc. monitoring products’ parts and assemblies; record process procedure details, documenting the processes following the ISO standards.
- Coordinates product activities with engineering, manufacturing, purchasing, and quality using the engineering change request (ECO) procedures.
Who You Are (Basic Qualifications)
Bacheller’s degree in physics, applied physics, material science, mechanical engineering, electrical engineering with optical orientations.
6 plus years product process development or engineering experience in optical related industry.
Hands on experience in optical system assembly & integration process.
Rich experience in opto-mechanical design and process development concepts & principles
Familiar with optical components, modules, and systems.
Familiar with various optical alignment methods, both passive and active.
Familiar with various optical components & assemblies’ fixing methods with applications of optical adhesives, solders, mechanical fastening, etc.
PFMEA analysis capability
Design of experiments (DOE) capability
Experimental data analysis & statistical process control capability
Familiar with new product introduction process.
Familiar with quality assurance system.
Planning, scheduling & risk analysis, and mitigation experience
Good inter departmental coordination capability.
Good verbal and written skills for exchange of information in a clear and concise manner in English and Mandarin. What Will Put You Ahead
Master’s or Ph.D. degree
The experience in process development of fiber optical products.
Familiar with optical design using Zemax.
