Director of Defense Business Development

Director of Defense Business Development, will secure orders for existing and potential customers.

What you will be responsible for:

  • Define global and regional strategies for recognizing sales growth targets for the foreign military and commercial defense sales market as the C-130 subject matter expert.
  • Assist all salespeople in setting strategies for accounts within their respective territories as the C-130 subject matter expert.
  • Long-term strategic pipeline development for strategic reoccurring business and new business development.
  • Program management and POC for key customers internal & external as required based on business demands.
  • Secure opportunities to quote customer requirements.
  • Establish professional relationships with appropriate customer personnel (purchasing, engineering, quality assurances, management, etc.)
  • Submit call reports after each visit to inform internal departments of engine shop activity.
  • Provide sales territory forecasts on a quarterly / annual basis.
  • Perform directly related duties as assigned for the respective territory.
  • Coordinate the resources available in-house to reach the division’s sales goals as prescribed.
  • Build relationships with C-130 operators, repair stations and service centers.
  • C-130 forecast and intimate knowledge on maintenance and consumables.
  • AAR ambassador for the C-130 community and our customers.
  • Other fixed wing and rotary wing aircraft platform experience – highly desirable
  • Participate as a liaison for USG sales support and site visits. (multiple platforms)
  • Cross functional AAR business development lead generation.
  • Travel required - domestic & international – tradeshows, conferences, customer meetings, etc.
  • All other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

What you will need to be successful in this role:

  • Master’s degree (M.A.) or equivalent; or twelve years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • C-130J/H business development and/or operations; 10 years related experience or equivalent across other aircraft platforms including C-130.
