Asset-Backed Finance Associate
The Asset-Backed Finance Associate will play a key role in supporting the origination, structuring, underwriting, and execution of secured lending transactions across a range of asset classes and client types - including financial sponsors, asset managers, and specialty finance companies.

Key Responsibilities and Duties

  • Assist in the structuring, execution and ongoing monitoring of a wide variety of secured financing transactions.
  • Prepare transaction materials including term sheets, credit memos, and client presentations.
  • Coordinate due diligence efforts and internal deal approval processes in line with bank policies and regulatory requirements.
  • Conduct details credit and collateral analysis for proposed transactions across asset types.
  • Build and maintain financial and cash flow models to assess transaction structure, advance rates, coverage metrics, and risk-return profiles.
  • Contribute to internal risk reviews and credit committee discussions.
  • Partner with internal teams to ensure seamless execution and risk oversight.
  • Support ongoing portfolio monitoring, reporting, and covenant compliance for existing facilities.
  • Ensure adherence to the bank's credit and regulatory standards throughout the deal lifecycle.

Minimum Qualifications

  • 3+ years of experience in loan underwriting, credit analysis, or portfolio management within a financial institution, preferably focused on Asset-Backed Finance, Structured Finance, Specialty Finance, or other secured lending environments.
  • Demonstrated experience analyzing, underwriting, and supporting the execution of structured credit and asset-based lending transactions.
  • Strong financial, analytical, and problem-solving skills, with the ability to evaluate complex credit structures and identify key risks and mitigants.
  • Proven ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously, drive deliverables to completion, and meet deadlines in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.
  • Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills, with the ability to effectively present analyses and clearly articulate complex financial concepts to internal and external stakeholders.
  • Strong attention to detail, organizational skills, and the ability to work independently while contributing to a team-oriented culture.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, and financial modeling techniques.
  • Ability and willingness to travel up to 15% as business needs require.

Qualifications

  • Support the structuring, underwriting, documentation, and closing of Asset-Backed Finance transactions.
  • Analyze financial statements, collateral, cash flow, and credit profiles to support underwriting decisions.
  • Prepare written credit analyses and financial models to assess transaction risk and performance.
  • Review credit agreements and legal documentation to ensure compliance with underwriting standards.
  • Serve as a key point of contact for clients and internal partners, coordinating diligence and providing transaction updates.
  • Assist with prospecting efforts and maintaining client and referral pipelines.
  • Perform KYC and due diligence reviews to support regulatory and policy requirements.
  • Stay current on market trends, industry developments, and regulatory changes impacting Asset-Backed Finance.

Pay Range

$148,800 - $201,300
