Housekeeping and Laundry

Position Summary

The Laundry & Housekeeping employee is responsible for maintaining a clean, sanitary, organized, and welcoming environment for clients and staff at Recovery Centers of Montana. This full-time position performs housekeeping, laundry, linen management, and sanitation duties within a residential treatment facility.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

Housekeeping

· Clean and sanitize client rooms, common areas, bathrooms, offices, hallways, and other assigned areas.

· Sweep, mop, vacuum, dust, and disinfect surfaces.

· Clean and sanitize bathrooms, including toilets, showers, sinks, mirrors, and fixtures.

· Empty trash and replace liners.

· Restock paper products, soap, cleaning supplies, and other facility necessities.

· Complete routine and scheduled deep-cleaning tasks.

· Assist with preparing rooms for new client admissions.

· Promptly report maintenance concerns, safety hazards, damage, or sanitation issues.

· Follow RCM infection-control, sanitation, and safety procedures.

Laundry & Linen

· Collect, sort, wash, dry, fold, and distribute facility laundry and linens.

· Maintain adequate supplies of clean towels, bedding, and other linens.

· Keep laundry rooms and equipment clean, sanitary, and organized.

· Follow appropriate procedures for handling soiled or potentially contaminated laundry.

· Monitor laundry and housekeeping supplies and notify the supervisor when items need to be reordered.

· Report damaged or malfunctioning laundry equipment.

Requirements

Qualifications

· High school diploma or equivalent preferred.· Previous housekeeping, laundry, hospitality, healthcare, or residential facility experience preferred but not required.· Dependable and able to maintain a consistent full-time work schedule.· Ability to work independently and manage assigned responsibilities.· Organized and attentive to detail.· Ability to maintain confidentiality and appropriate professional boundaries with clients.· Ability to follow safety, sanitation, infection-control, and workplace procedures.· Must successfully complete required RCM employment screenings and trainings.

Physical Requirements

· Ability to stand and walk for extended periods.· Ability to bend, reach, push, pull, and perform repetitive movements.· Ability to lift and carry laundry, linens, supplies, and equipment associated with routine housekeeping duties.· Ability to safely operate standard housekeeping and laundry equipment.

Work Environment

This position works within a residential behavioral health and recovery treatment environment. The employee will have regular interaction with clients and staff and is expected to maintain professionalism, confidentiality, appropriate boundaries, and a recovery-supportive environment.
