Summary
Serves as a Business Analyst responsible for analyzing business operations, administering and configuring enterprise applications, and ensuring technology solutions effectively support agency business processes.
Partners with business units to analyze operational processes, identify business needs, document requirements, and recommend technology-enabled solutions. Conducts business process reviews, facilitates stakeholder discussions, documents workflows and business rules, and recommends improvements to enhance efficiency, effectiveness, compliance, and service delivery. Assists in the development of business cases, process documentation, and implementation plans for system enhancements and technology initiatives.
Administers and configures assigned enterprise applications to support business operations and agency objectives. Maintains application settings, workflows, business rules, user roles, security permissions, notifications, and configuration changes. Ensures application usage aligns with established business processes, agency policies, cybersecurity requirements, records management standards, and data governance practices. Participates in access reviews, audits, and compliance activities.
Develops and maintains reports, dashboards, queries, scripts, and automated processes that support business operations and decision-making. Performs data analysis, validation, and quality reviews to ensure information accuracy and consistency. Assists with application integrations, data exchanges, and automation initiatives that improve operational efficiency and reduce manual processes.
Coordinates with software vendors, business users, and technical teams to support application upgrades, enhancements, issue resolution, and system implementations. Participates in testing, change management activities, user acceptance testing, training, and communication efforts. Provides application support and serves as a functional resource for assigned business systems.
Develops and maintains business process documentation, standard operating procedures, user guides, configuration documentation, training materials, and knowledge base articles for assigned applications and business processes. Conducts user training and knowledge transfer activities to promote effective system utilization and adherence to established business processes, policies, and procedures. Ensures documentation remains current and reflects system enhancements and process improvements.
Performs other related duties as assigned.
Examples of duties
A bachelor's degree in computer science or a related area and three (3) years of experience in computer system development and modification; or an approved acceptable equivalence. A valid motor vehicle operator's license is required.
The physical demands for the essential functions includes sitting or standing at a desk for an extended periods and working on a computer. May be required to lift up to 30 lbs. May be required to work outside normal business hours.
