The Riverside County Regional Park and Open-Space District has an opportunity for a Park Attendant - Events at Parks Headquarters in Riverside.
The Park Attendant will be responsible for responding to event inquiries over the phone, email and in person. Ensure all event inquires are being responded to in a timely manner. Schedule and provide tours. Make events reservation through the Point of Sale system. Create and execute contracts for events. Process payments. Assist with setup and teardown for weddings, special events and corporate events. Assist with general facility maintenance such as cleaning of event spaces, restrooms, wiping down tables and chairs and sweeping floors.
Competitive candidates will have experience in a customer relations/guest services capacity. Will have strong experience in cash handling and Point of Sale (POS) systems, as well as customer service and conflict resolution skills. Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications (including Word, Excel and Outlook) and familiarity with reservation systems are also highly desired.
This position follows a 5/40 schedule with typical hours from 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Days off may vary but are generally Monday and Tuesdays when no events are scheduled, and availability on weekends, evenings and holidays is required based on departmental needs. Varied schedule could also include working hours ranging from 7:00 a.m. to 11:00 p.m. is the most standard hours.
Under general supervision, to assess and collect user fees at assigned park; to assist in the registration of visitors using park facilities; to provide information on park services, rules and regulations; and to do other work as required.
Incumbents in positions of this class work with minimal supervision at parks throughout Riverside County. Primary responsibilities include providing information and assistance to visitors, and assessing and collecting fees.

Examples of duties
• Greets park visitors, and determines appropriate fees based on usage of park services; collects fees, issues receipts and permits, assigns visitors to various camping areas, and records all registration information.
• Prepares daily reports of revenue and receipts, and park usage; prepares and delivers bank deposits as scheduled.
• Answers inquiries and provides information on park services, rules, and regulations in person and over the phone; observes established procedures to ensure the safety and security of visitors including refusing entry to persons not conforming to regulations.
• Assigns work and explains procedures to volunteers; provides assistance in emergency situations.
Qualifications
EITHER I
Experience: Six months of experience which involved collection of money, record keeping, and dealing with the public.
OR II
Experience: Six months of experience performing clerical work directly related to parks operations.
Knowledge of: Simple record keeping procedures and basic arithmetic.
Ability to: Read, understand, and apply regulations pertaining to the use and operation of County parks; perform math computations quickly and accurately; keep accurate records according to prescribed procedures; explain regulations, policies, and procedures in a tactful and courteous manner; work independently.

Other Requirements:
License: Possession of a valid California Driver License is required in order to use county vehicles to pick up materials based on department needs.
Physical Requirements: Working inside and outside of buildings and may be subject to heat, cold, animals and smells. Must be able to work on their feet for extended periods of time.
