Why This Role Matters

The Janitor independently cleans restrooms, offices, break rooms, locker rooms, kitchenettes/pantries, showers, stairwells, corridors, elevators/escalators, and other work areas. Duties involve a combination of the following: Sweeping, mopping floors; removing trash and other materials for recycling; dusting furniture or fixtures; polishing metal fixtures or trimmings; replenishing restroom supplies.

What You Will Do

  • Clean and maintain restrooms, offices, break rooms, locker rooms, kitchenettes/pantries, showers, stairwells, corridors, elevators/escalators, and other work areas.
  • Sweep, mop, and vacuum floors, rugs, carpets, and upholstered furniture.
  • Dust furniture, fixtures, and equipment; polish metalwork and fittings.
  • Wash walls, ceilings, woodwork, door panels, and sills.
  • Empty wastebaskets, transport trash to disposal areas, and recycle materials appropriately.
  • Replenish restroom supplies as needed.
  • Follow all safety standards and proper use of cleaning equipment.
  • Maintain quality work and appropriate conduct in line with Didlake policies.
  • Complete and maintain all required Didlake training.

Education & Experience

  • High School Diploma or GED preferred; or
  • Minimum of six (6) months of related work experience

Skills & Abilities

  • Female applicants only, as this position requires a bona fide occupational qualification (BFOQ) based on gender due to monitoring women's restrooms.
  • A valid Real ID is required to access this worksite.
  • Ability to understand and carry out simple and detailed verbal instructions.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with supervisors and coworkers.
  • Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team.
  • Ability to interact respectfully and effectively with coworkers with disabilities.
  • Basic knowledge of cleaning practices, equipment, and safety procedures.
  • Ability to perform physical duties including standing, walking, bending, lifting, and moving materials throughout the workday.
  • Ability to safely operate standard custodial equipment and tools.
