Job Summary:
The Yard Foreman will oversee and manage yard inventory and employees and ensure compliance with safety, quality, and quantity standards.
Supervisory Responsibilities:
Trains and manages yard employees on the assigned shift.Oversee the daily workflow and assignments of the shift.Provides constructive and timely performance evaluations.
Duties/Responsibilities:
Ensure yard is secure, safe and manned at all times during open hours (i.e. No broken fences, gate locked at closing).Check in/ Receive the merchandise in the yard and ensure that it matches with the manifest.Rotate stock in the yard and ensure that the inventory is put away where it belongs; stocked daily.Make sure lumber stacks are leveled out daily.Make sure the yard is organized for inventory purposes (i.e. cycle counting and ordering)Make sure all sheds are cleaned out daily to prevent merchandise from being damaged.Ensure the maintenance on vehicles is kept up with.Ensure that the drivers complete the Driver’s Daily Checklist.Ensure that the drivers complete the daily mileage log.Ensure all customers are waited on in a courteous manner and orders are loaded properly.Assist manager in performance evaluations of yard personnel.Assist buyer or cycle counter in the counts of the yard.Prepares work schedules to ensure efficient operations.Maintains heavy equipment and complete recordkeeping for maintenance of equipment.Ensures that employees comply with applicable safety regulations, policies, and procedures.Ensure yard staff obtain proper forklift certification.Schedules deliveries with customers.Compliance with Hacienda uniform policyComplete any necessary training.Performs other related duties as assigned.
Required Skills/Abilities:
Thorough understanding of or the ability to quickly learn yard processes and heavy machinery.Excellent supervisory and leadership skills.Excellent verbal and written communication skills.Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.Excellent time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines.Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.Ability to prioritize tasks and to delegate them when appropriate.
Education and Experience:
High school diploma or equivalent preferred.Prior exceptional work experience with the company preferred.
Physical Requirements:
Must be able to work outdoors, sometimes in inclement weather.Must be able to climb, stoop, knee, reach, bend, push, pull.Must be able to regularly lift 100 pounds at a time.Safely operate heavy equipment
Compensation: $19.00 - $22.00 per hour
