Job Purpose
Bridgestone is looking for a Draughtsman Graduate to join our team and gain practical experience within a world-class manufacturing environment.
This graduate programme is designed to provide hands-on exposure to drafting, engineering design and manufacturing operations while developing the technical and professional skills required to build a successful career in the automotive industry.
Working closely with engineering, maintenance and project teams, you will apply your academic knowledge in a practical environment, contribute to operational improvement initiatives and gain valuable industry experience.
Responsibilities
- Assist with the creation, updating and maintenance of technical and engineering drawings.
- Prepare engineering drawings, layouts, schematics and supporting design documentation.
- Support engineering and plant projects through accurate drafting and effective documentation control.
- Collaborate with engineers, maintenance teams and other project stakeholders to ensure drawings are accurate and compliant with applicable standards.
- Apply drafting and engineering design principles to support operational and technical requirements.
- Contribute to plant improvement initiatives aimed at enhancing operational efficiency and performance.
- Participate in safety, quality and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Maintain accurate and well-organised technical documentation.
- Ensure adherence to Bridgestone's safety, environmental and quality standards.
Qualifications & Experience Required
Education, Master, Other Certification
A Bachelor's Degree, BTech or relevant postgraduate qualification in one of the following fields:
- Mechanical Engineering
- Draughting
- Engineering Design
- Mechatronics
- A related technical or engineering field
Experience
- Recent graduate, typically having completed the relevant qualification within the past two years.
- Previous workplace experience is not essential; relevant internships, vacation work or practical academic projects would be beneficial.
- A strong academic record and demonstrated achievement in relevant coursework and/or extracurricular activities are advantageous.
Technical Skills
- Knowledge of AutoCAD and SolidWorks.
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and specifications.
- Sound understanding of engineering drawing principles and standards.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy in preparing technical documentation.
- Good analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Computer literacy, including proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
