Director of Housekeeping - InterContinental Abu Dhabi

We are looking for an experienced and inspiring Director of Housekeeping to lead our Housekeeping team and ensure the highest standards of cleanliness, presentation, comfort, and service throughout our hotel.

As Director of Housekeeping, you will provide strategic and operational leadership to the Housekeeping function, creating an environment where our colleagues feel empowered to deliver exceptional experiences for every guest.

A little taste of your day-to-day:

Every day is different, but you will mainly be responsible for:

• Leading the overall Housekeeping operation, including guest rooms, public areas, laundry and related areas.
• Ensuring consistently high standards of cleanliness, presentation and maintenance in line with InterContinental brand standards.
• Inspiring, developing and engaging the Housekeeping team to deliver exceptional guest experiences.
• Working closely with Front Office, Engineering and other departments to ensure smooth daily hotel operations.
• Managing departmental budgets, payroll, productivity, inventory and operating expenses while maintaining service excellence.
• Overseeing room inspections, preventative maintenance coordination and quality assurance standards.
• Driving continuous improvement through guest feedback, quality audits and operational performance.
• Ensuring compliance with health, safety, hygiene and sustainability requirements.
• Managing suppliers, linen, uniforms, amenities and housekeeping equipment effectively.
• Supporting recruitment, training, performance management and succession planning within the department.
• Leading by example and creating a positive culture built around collaboration, accountability and genuine care.

What we need from you:

• Previous experience in a senior Housekeeping leadership role, ideally as a Director of Housekeeping or Executive Housekeeper within a luxury or five-star hotel.
• Strong knowledge of luxury housekeeping operations, quality standards and guest expectations.
• Proven leadership experience managing and developing a large, multicultural team.
• Strong financial and commercial awareness, including budgeting, forecasting, productivity and cost management.
• Excellent communication, organization and problem-solving skills.
• A hands-on leadership style with exceptional attention to detail.
• Ability to collaborate effectively across departments in a fast-paced hotel environment.
• Previous experience with an international luxury hotel brand would be an advantage
