Teller
JOB PURPOSE
To provide efficient, accurate, and high-quality teller services to customers while ensuring compliance with the Bank's policies, operational procedures, Shariah principles, and regulatory requirements. The role is responsible for processing cash and non-cash transactions, maintaining cash balancing standards, and delivering excellent customer service in line with Emirates Islamic service standards.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Customer Service
Deliver exceptional customer service and maintain high service quality standards.
Process customer transactions efficiently while minimizing customer waiting time.
Assist customers with account-related inquiries and basic banking services.
Promote self-service and digital banking channels to enhance customer experience.
Handle customer requests and escalate service issues where required.
Cash & Transaction Processing
Process cash deposits, withdrawals, transfers, remittances, cheque deposits, manager's cheques, and other teller transactions accurately.
Verify customer identity and transaction documentation in accordance with bank policies.
Ensure all transactions are conducted within delegated authority limits and operational procedures.
Balance cash drawer and reconcile transactions accurately at the end of each day.
Maintain cash holdings within prescribed limits and safeguard cash and security items.
Compliance & Risk Management
Adhere to all regulatory requirements including AML, KYC, sanctions screening, and fraud prevention controls.
Identify and escalate suspicious transactions and unusual customer activities.
Ensure compliance with Emirates Islamic operational policies, audit requirements, and Shariah governance standards.
Maintain confidentiality of customer information and banking records at all times.
Sales Referral & Branch Support
Identify customer needs and refer potential opportunities for banking products and services.
Support branch sales initiatives through quality referrals.
Assist branch operations and contribute to achieving branch service and business objectives.
QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE
Education
Bachelor's Degree or Diploma in Business Administration, Finance, Banking, or a related field.
Experience
0-2 years of experience in banking, customer service, retail operations, or cash handling.
Fresh UAE National graduates are encouraged to apply.
Prior teller or branch banking experience will be an added advantage.
KNOWLEDGE & SKILLS
Strong customer service orientation.
Good communication skills in Arabic and English.
Basic understanding of banking operations and branch procedures.
Good numerical and cash-handling skills.
Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
Knowledge of Islamic banking principles is an advantage.
