Job Description

The Gardener is responsible for maintaining the hotel’s gardens, landscaped areas, lawns, plants, and outdoor spaces to the highest standards expected of a five-star hotel. The role ensures that all exterior green areas are clean, attractive, healthy, and well maintained, contributing to an exceptional guest experience.

Key Responsibilities

• Maintain all hotel gardens, lawns, flower beds, plants, trees, and landscaped areas to five-star standards.
• Perform daily watering, planting, pruning, trimming, mowing, fertilizing, and general garden maintenance.
• Ensure that all outdoor and landscaped areas are clean, tidy, attractive, and guest-ready at all times.
• Monitor the condition and health of plants, flowers, trees, and lawns.
• Identify and report plant diseases, pests, irrigation issues, or other landscaping problems.
• Maintain and monitor irrigation systems and report any technical issues to the Engineering team.
• Remove weeds, fallen leaves, dry branches, and garden waste promptly.
• Support seasonal planting, landscape improvements, and special hotel events when required.
• Properly use, clean, and store gardening tools, machinery, and equipment.
• Ensure gardening activities do not disturb guests and are carried out with minimum noise and disruption.
• Follow Accor and hotel standards regarding health, safety, hygiene, sustainability, and environmental protection.
• Coordinate with the Engineering, Housekeeping, and other hotel departments when necessary.
• Report any maintenance or safety concerns observed in outdoor guest areas.
• Perform other related duties assigned by the Chief Engineer or Engineering Supervisor.

Qualifications

• Previous experience as a Gardener or Landscaper, preferably within a 4- or 5-star hotel, resort, or luxury property.
• Good knowledge of gardening, landscaping, plant care, lawn maintenance, and irrigation.
• Ability to safely operate gardening tools and equipment.
• Basic knowledge of fertilizers, plant treatments, and pest control.
• Good physical condition and ability to work outdoors in different weather conditions.
• Strong attention to detail and cleanliness.
• Reliable, responsible, and able to work independently.
• Good teamwork and communication skills.
• Basic English communication skills are preferred.
