About the Opportunity
We are seeking an experienced Project Engineer to assist in the planning and delivery of contamination and remediation projects across the Country Regional Network.
This is a hands-on role where you will work with diverse teams, contractors and stakeholders to safely deliver projects that improve critical transport infrastructure for regional communities.
You'll have the opportunity to lead projects from concept through to completion, making a genuine and lasting impact while working alongside a collaborative and supportive team.
What You'll Be Doing
As Project Engineer, you will:
Be part of planning, coordination and delivery of contamination and remediation projects to achieve safety, quality, schedule and budget objectives.
Build strong relationships with internal teams, contractors, suppliers and clients.
Manage project programs, budgets and reporting requirements.
Ensure construction activities are delivered in accordance with rail standards, engineering requirements and legislative obligations.
Support design reviews and manage changes through approved governance processes.
Champion safe work practices and foster a positive safety culture across project teams.
Oversee contractor performance to achieve quality, commercial and operational outcomes.
Monitor project performance and identify opportunities to improve delivery outcomes.
Provide regular project updates to senior leadership and key stakeholders.
Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives across the business.
About You

You enjoy working in the field, collaborating with project teams and solving environmental challenges. Whether coordinating site investigations, supporting remediation projects or working with contractors and stakeholders, you take a practical and proactive approach to delivering high-quality outcomes.
You'll bring:
Experience in contaminated land management, site investigation, remediation, environmental engineering, or a related field.
A degree in Environmental Engineering, Environmental Science, Geology or related discipline
An understanding of contaminated land assessment, remediation and environmental management principles including soil, groundwater, surface water or vapour sampling and site investigations.
Willingness to travel and oversee site works throughout regional New South Wales.
Knowledge of applicable environmental legislation, standards and guidelines, or a willingness to develop expertise in this area.
Experience working with contractors, consultants and stakeholders to support project delivery outcomes.
Well developed organisational skills with the ability to manage stakeholders.
A current driver's licence and willingness to travel across regional NSW as required.
Chartered status or progress towards chartership is highly regarded, but not essential.
