About the role

We are seeking an experienced Commercial Manager to join our team in Adelaide and support the delivery of one of Worley’s major EPCM projects. Reporting to the Senior Commercial Manager and working closely with the Project Leadership Team, you will support the day-to-day commercial and contractual administration of the project’s prime contract throughout execution.

This role plays an important part in managing contractual obligations, contract compliance, change, commercial risk, contractual correspondence and project financial performance. You will help protect Worley’s commercial position while supporting successful project and customer outcomes.

Working across Project Management, Project Controls, Finance, Supply Chain and Legal, you will help ensure contractual requirements are understood, project teams meet their obligations and Worley’s contractual entitlements are preserved throughout the project lifecycle.

This opportunity is ideally suited to a commercial or contracts professional with experience in project execution who is looking to broaden their exposure to major projects and customer-facing contract delivery.

What you’ll do

  • Support the Senior Commercial Manager with the commercial and contractual administration of the project’s prime contract.
  • Provide practical commercial and contractual guidance to project teams regarding contract obligations, deliverables, notice requirements and commercial risks.
  • Assist with the management of project changes, variations, claims and other contractual entitlement opportunities.
  • Prepare, review and coordinate contractual notices, customer correspondence and commercial submissions in accordance with contractual requirements and timeframes.
  • Support the identification, assessment and management of commercial and contractual risks and opportunities.
  • Work with Project Controls and Finance to monitor project costs, revenue, gross margin, cash flow and overall financial performance.
  • Review project commercial and financial data to support reporting, forecasting and effective commercial decision-making.
  • Maintain commercial registers, records and documentation to support commercial governance and contractual compliance.
  • Assist with the development and implementation of commercial strategies that protect project performance and support successful customer outcomes.
  • Build effective working relationships with customers, project partners and internal stakeholders.
  • Collaborate with Legal, Supply Chain, Finance, Project Controls and other functions to resolve commercial matters and support project delivery.
  • Support project reviews, audits and governance activities in accordance with the Worley Management System and Commercial Management Framework.

What you’ll bring

  • Relevant experience in commercial management, contract administration or a related project commercial role.
  • Knowledge of prime contracts and the commercial risks associated with engineering and construction projects.
  • An understanding of project and business financial reporting, project cost structures, gross margin, profitability and cash-flow management.
  • Experience working with commercial models such as reimbursable rates and at-cost arrangements.
  • Knowledge of commercial and contract risk management, including contingency assessment and drawdown.
  • An understanding of project change management processes and the importance of contractual obligations, notifications and time bars.
  • The ability to support commercial and contractual negotiations with customers and project partners.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to prepare commercial summaries, contractual correspondence and written responses.
  • The ability to communicate project and business commercial strategies clearly to a range of stakeholders.
  • A strong commitment to health, safety and responsible project delivery.

Why join us?

  • Contribute to the successful delivery of a major EPCM project.
  • Build your expertise across prime contract administration, project commercial management and customer-facing project delivery.
  • Work alongside experienced commercial and project leaders.
  • Gain exposure to the full commercial lifecycle, including change management, commercial governance, project financial performance, claims management and contract close-out.
  • Join a collaborative project team where commercial excellence, strong customer relationships and successful project outcomes are valued and recognised.
