Senior Verification & Validation Engineer

The Opportunity

Eligibility: Applicants must be Australian citizens and be eligible to obtain and maintain an active Australian Government Defence security clearance at the level required for the position.

Join Lockheed Martin Australia's growing Verification & Validation capability and contribute to the delivery of complex Defence and national security programs. As a Senior Verification & Validation Engineer, you will work alongside experienced systems, integration and test specialists to ensure critical capabilities are verified, validated and ready for operational use.

Supporting a range of Defence projects across the business, you'll have the opportunity to apply your V&V expertise across different domains, technologies and engineering environments while continuing to build your technical capability and broaden your Defence experience. This role is well suited to engineers who enjoy hands-on technical work, collaboration and solving complex verification challenges.

Key Responsibilities

The Senior Verification & Validation Engineer's primary responsibilities include:

  • Develop and coordinate key V&V artefacts including V&V Plans, Verification Cross Reference Matrices (VCRMs), Acceptance Test Plans and Procedures
  • Support the planning, coordination and execution of system-level verification activities across complex engineering programs
  • Contribute to the development and maintenance of the V&V digital thread, ensuring traceability from requirements through to verification evidence
  • Collaborate with systems engineering, integration, test and project teams to deliver successful verification outcomes
  • Build strong working relationships with customers, stakeholders and multidisciplinary engineering teams
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives, engineering reviews, bids and capability development activities across the V&V function

What you’ll bring

To be successful in this role you will have:

  • Experience in Verification & Validation, Systems Engineering, Integration, Test & Evaluation, or related engineering disciplines within complex environments
  • Strong understanding of systems engineering principles and their application to verification activities
  • Experience working with MBSE tools and digital engineering environments such as DOORS, Rhapsody, ETM or similar
  • Knowledge of Defence capability domains such as Command & Control, Command Support, ISR or related technologies
  • Experience working within Agile development environments and collaborating across multidisciplinary teams
  • Strong communication, stakeholder engagement and problem-solving skills, with a desire to continue growing your technical expertise
  • NV1 security clearance and ability to handle Export Controlled information
  • Proficient in AI prompting as it applies to this position and practice
