Your Opportunity

This is a 12 months Max Term Contract

As a Senior Cyber Governance, Risk & Assurance Specialist, you'll play a critical role in strengthening Cuscal's cybersecurity governance, risk management and assurance capabilities.

Working within our Cyber Security team, you'll help drive compliance with regulatory obligations and industry frameworks, conduct cyber risk assessments and provide meaningful insights that support risk-informed decision making across the business.

You'll make an impact by:

  • Supporting the development and maintenance of cybersecurity policies, standards and governance frameworks.
  • Ensuring alignment with key regulatory and industry standards, including CPS 234, PCI DSS, SOC 2 and other relevant frameworks.
  • Conducting cyber risk assessments across technology environments, applications and third-party suppliers.
  • Identifying, assessing and prioritising cybersecurity risks and recommending practical mitigation strategies.
  • Delivering assurance activities including control testing, compliance reviews and audit support.
  • Monitoring and reporting on cyber risk, compliance and control effectiveness to support leadership and governance forums.
  • Supporting third-party risk management activities and vendor assurance processes.
  • Collaborating with stakeholders across the business to embed risk-aware decision making and cybersecurity best practices.
  • Contributing to cyber governance reporting and insights for senior leadership and risk committees.
  • Staying current on emerging cybersecurity threats, regulatory developments and industry trends.

Qualifications

What you'll bring

We're looking for someone who combines strong cyber risk and governance expertise with outstanding stakeholder engagement skills.

You'll ideally have:

  • At least 5 years experience in cybersecurity governance, risk management, assurance or compliance roles.
  • Strong knowledge of cybersecurity frameworks and standards such as ISO 27001, NIST, CPS 234, PCI DSS and ASD Essential Eight.
  • Experience conducting cyber risk assessments, control reviews and assurance activities.
  • Understanding of third-party risk management, vulnerability management and incident response practices.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to assess risk and recommend practical solutions.
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to translate technical concepts for non-technical audiences.
  • Proven ability to engage and influence stakeholders across a complex organisation.
  • Tertiary qualifications in Computer Science, Cyber Security or a related discipline.
  • Experience working within financial services, payments or other highly regulated industries.
