About the role
This position is based across cohealth's CBD services at 244 Flinders Street, where a multidisciplinary team provides holistic care to people who use drugs.
The role of the Community Mental Health Nurse is to enhance the quality, delivery, and integration of mental health care to AOD clients by providing nursing services with a focus on health promotion, prevention and advocacy.

Your duties include:
• Build trust and rapport with clients to engage them in care and deliver nursing services
• Within the multidisciplinary team, identify clients for health promotion programs, particularly across high risk and vulnerable population groups
• Develop and maintain links with cohealth mental health programs, as well as key external stakeholders
• Maintain professional, accurate and contemporaneous client notes, assessments and care plans

Our ideal candidate:
• Registered Nurse Division 1 with current practicing certificate with Australian Health Practitioners Registration Agency (APHRA)
• Hold relevant psychiatric nursing qualifications including a Graduate Diploma in Mental Health Nursing or Masters in Mental Health Nursing
• Demonstrated interest and knowledge in providing mental health nursing care to people in a community setting
• Demonstrated understanding of social determinants of mental health and a social model of health approach to nursing practice
