In Australia, our Melbourne facility plays an important role in supporting customers and regional teams across Australia and the wider Asia Pacific region.
We’re now having an opening of Facilities Manager role, in this role you will oversee the maintenance, operations, and ongoing improvement of Intralox’s Melbourne facility in Epping, Victoria. This role ensures the site, building services, utilities, and supporting infrastructure operate safely, efficiently, and reliably in line with Australian regulatory requirements, tenant requirements, and Intralox standards. The Facilities Manager partners closely with Plant Manager, Production, EHS, Global Facilities, the external service providers to support business continuity, operational excellence, and a safe working environment.
Job Responsibilities and Requirements
Key Responsibilities:
Facility Management
- Manage repair, maintenance, and upkeep of building services and site infrastructure, including HVAC, electrical, plumbing, fire systems, security, waste management, and utilities.
- Oversee external service providers, maintenance contractors, and any internal site support resources to ensure work is delivered safely, efficiently, and to agreed service levels.
- Ensure timely completion of work orders and adherence to safety and quality standards.
- Act as the key point of contact between Intralox and the tenancy management, building services, maintenance access, and site-related facilities matters.
- Ensure facilities activities comply with applicable Australian, Victorian, and local council requirements, including relevant building, essential services, contractor management, licensing, and certification obligations.
- Use the Integrated Workplace Management System to plan, track, and communicate maintenance activities, work orders, contractor attendance, and service records.
Project & Contract Management
- Lead facility improvement, fit-out, refurbishment, and minor construction projects, including planning, budgeting, risk assessment, stakeholder coordination, and on-site supervision.
- Prepare scopes of work, evaluate supplier proposals, and manage service agreements for utilities, cleaning, waste, landscaping, security, trades, and other facilities services.
- Track project milestones and ensure timely delivery.
- Manage operating expenses, maintenance budgets, and capital planning for the Melbourne facility, with a focus on reliability, cost control, and long-term asset performance.
Safety & Compliance
- Ensure maintenance, contractor, and site activities are completed in accordance with Australian workplace health and safety requirements and Intralox EHS standards.
- Partner with EHS to maintain a safe, compliant, and audit-ready facility environment, including contractor inductions, risk assessments, permits, emergency preparedness, and incident follow-up.
- Coordinate response to site emergencies, building service interruptions, and urgent maintenance issues, including reasonable after-hours support when required.
Qualifications:
- 8+ years’ experience in facilities management, building services, property operations, or maintenance management, within manufacturing, industrial, warehousing, or commercial settings.
- Strong communication, problem-solving, shows initiatives and good organizational skills.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong understanding of contractor management, preventative maintenance, essential services, workplace health and safety, and facilities compliance requirements in Australia.
- Ability to provide reasonable after-hours support for urgent facility, safety, or business-critical issues.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite; experience with MS Project, AutoCAD, or similar project/facilities tools is beneficial.
- Experience with IWMS, CMMS, or facilities work order systems.
