Senior Clinician – LikeMind, Western Sydney
Uniting is looking for an experienced Senior Clinician to join our LikeMind team and provide high-quality, recovery-oriented mental health support.

Location: Merrylands, Blacktown, Castle Hill and Parramatta (minimum of 2 sites)
Employment Type: Full-time, Permanent
Working days: Monday to Friday, 8.30am to 4.30pm
Salary: HPA Level 3 $50.52 per hour - $55.84 per hour + Super + generous salary packaging benefits up to $18,550

Work Locations: The role is co-located with Local Health District teams, with office space available at Community Mental Health Centres in Merrylands, Blacktown, Castle Hill and Parramatta. Depending on service needs, clinicians will work across a minimum of two sites, with scheduled days at consistent locations to provide a regular and ongoing work pattern.

About the Program:
LikeMind is a community-based mental health service providing collaborative, recovery-oriented and wrap-around support to people experiencing mental health concerns, as well as their families and carers.

In 2025, LikeMind transitioned to an amended service delivery model with a closer partnership with NBMLHD and WSLHD. LikeMind Western Sydney accepts referrals only from these Local Health Districts.

Role Overview:
As a Senior Clinician, you will provide comprehensive mental health assessments, risk assessments, case formulation, treatment planning, triage and evidence-based interventions, while supporting L1 and L2 clinicians through clinical supervision, mentoring and consultation.
• Provide comprehensive mental health assessments, including mental state examinations, risk assessments, case formulations and initial treatment planning.
• Review comprehensive mental health assessments for clients referred to access-focused psychological supports. This includes reviewing mental state examinations, risk assessments, case formulations and initial treatment planning to inform appropriate clinical interventions.
• Provide mentorship, clinical supervision and consultation to L1 and L2 clinicians within a multidisciplinary team.
• Work collaboratively with consumers, their families/significant others and service systems to deliver recovery-oriented support.
• Participate in triage and intake of referrals, assessing presenting concerns, identifying risks, reviewing supports and negotiating appropriate care plans.
The role is central to improving outcomes in mental and physical health while promoting opportunities for education and employment.

Essential Criteria:
Qualifications:
• Approved tertiary qualifications in Mental Health Nursing, Psychology, Social Work, Occupational Therapy (or equivalent).
• Provisional or full registration with AHPRA or an appropriate professional body.
Experience:
• Post-qualifying, minimum of full time 3 years’ clinical experience in a mental health field preferably working with adult consumers.
• Proven experience in providing primary mental health interventions, assessments, evidence-based treatment and case management.
• Substantial experience in acute mental health, including bio-psycho-social assessments, crisis intervention and short-term psychosocial treatment.
• Demonstrated clinical leadership including supervision, staff orientation and mentoring; education, training, and provision of support to students on field placements.
• Contribution to multidisciplinary recovery-focused care planning and clinical case review presentations as required.
• Experience in service representation at relevant interservice clinical discussions or meetings.
• Current Australian Driver Licence.
