Why You’ll Love This Role

This is a practical, field-based role where you’ll help maintain the City’s roads, drainage and civil infrastructure. As a Flocon Operator/Labourer, you’ll operate specialist equipment, support civil maintenance works and work closely with a team that values safety, reliability and quality service for the community.

What You’ll Be Doing

  • Operate Flocon trucks and associated plant safely and effectively
  • Transport, place and support the delivery of asphalt, gravel and other civil materials
  • Assist with road, drainage and general civil construction and maintenance activities
  • Carry out manual labouring duties including excavation, reinstatement and site clean-up
  • Inspect and maintain equipment, tools and work areas to support safe operations
  • Follow traffic management, workplace safety and environmental procedures
  • Identify and report hazards, defects, maintenance needs and service issues
  • Work collaboratively with the team to deliver timely, high-quality outcomes for the community

Qualifications

What You’ll Bring

You’ll be a dependable, safety-focused team member who enjoys outdoor work, operating equipment and contributing to well-maintained public infrastructure. You’ll ideally bring:

  • Experience operating Flocon trucks, asphalt equipment or similar mobile plant
  • Current HR licence, with HC licence highly regarded
  • Construction Induction White Card
  • Experience in civil construction, road maintenance or drainage maintenance
  • Ability to carry out physically active labouring duties in an outdoor environment
  • Sound understanding of workplace health and safety requirements
  • Good communication skills and a positive, team-focused approach
  • Reliability, attention to detail and pride in quality workmanship
