Opportunity Snapshot

As part of the Technology team, the Technical Lead provides hands-on technical leadership across the domain’s Microsoft .NET, Dynamics 365 and associated technology platforms, partnering closely with Technology Domain Managers, Product Owners, Architects, Engineers and business stakeholders to deliver secure, scalable and high-quality technology solutions that support business outcomes.

The primary purpose of this role is to lead the technical delivery of features, enhancements, platform modernisation and strategic initiatives, ensuring solutions are designed, developed, tested and deployed in alignment with Bupa’s engineering standards, architectural principles and security requirements.

As the technical leader within the domain, this role provides technical direction, solution design leadership and engineering guidance across the software development lifecycle. The role drives engineering excellence by uplifting engineering standards, improving delivery capability, strengthening technical governance, reducing technical debt and enabling consistent, high-quality engineering outcomes. Working collaboratively across delivery teams, the Technical Lead champions modern software engineering practices, automation, DevSecOps, AI-assisted engineering and continuous improvement.

The role also identifies opportunities to modernise platforms, improve developer productivity and adopt emerging technologies that enhance engineering capability and business value. Success in this role will be measured through successful technology delivery, engineering capability uplift, platform modernisation, improved delivery outcomes, adoption of AI-enabled engineering practices and the establishment of high engineering standards across the domain.

What you’ll need to make it possible

  • 8+ years’ experience in software engineering with strong expertise across Microsoft technologies.
  • Extensive experience designing and developing enterprise applications using Microsoft .NET (C#, ASP.NET, .NET Framework/.NET).
  • Experience with Microsoft Dynamics 365 CRM/Salesforce configuration, customisation and integration.
  • Experience developing and integrating REST APIs and enterprise integration solutions.
  • Experience with Microsoft Azure, Azure DevOps and cloud-native application development.
  • Strong experience implementing CI/CD pipelines, DevSecOps practices and engineering automation.
  • Experience with SQL Server, database design and performance optimisation.
  • Experience working within Agile delivery environments.
  • Demonstrated experience leading technical delivery and providing technical leadership across engineering teams.
  • Experience driving engineering excellence, delivery uplift, platform modernisation and technical debt reduction.
  • Practical experience implementing AI-enabled engineering practices or adopting Generative AI tools within software delivery is highly desirable.
  • Strong understanding of software architecture, design patterns and modern engineering practices.
