How you’ll make an impact

As Senior Product Manager, Insurance, you'll play a critical role in strengthening the commercial performance, sustainability and governance of AMP Platforms' insurance proposition.

Working across Platforms, Risk, Compliance, Distribution, Operations and external insurance partners, you'll be responsible for the ongoing evolution of our insurance offering, ensuring it delivers strong member and adviser outcomes while supporting AMP's commercial objectives.

You will lead the strategy, design and ongoing development of the insurance proposition, balancing customer needs, regulatory requirements and commercial performance. This role offers a unique opportunity to influence a key component of the Platforms value proposition and help shape its future direction.

In this role, you will:

  • Embed insurance product management practices and ownership across the Platforms business.
  • Lead insurance proposition strategy, product design, simplification initiatives and future enhancements.
  • Manage relationships with insurers, administrators and key service providers to deliver agreed outcomes and service standards.
  • Oversee product lifecycle activities, including disclosure updates, policy changes, governance reviews and market monitoring.
  • Drive pricing and re-rate activities, product performance reviews and competitor analysis.
  • Develop recommendations that enhance product sustainability, member value and commercial performance.
  • Support regulatory, legislative, risk and compliance change initiatives, including business readiness and remediation activities.
  • Prepare governance papers, business cases, performance reporting and recommendations for senior leadership and committees.
  • Identify opportunities for operational improvement, simplification and risk mitigation across the insurance proposition.

What you will bring to the team

To be successful in this role, you'll combine deep insurance product expertise with strong commercial judgment, stakeholder management and strategic thinking.

Ideally, you'll bring:

  • 7+ years' experience in insurance product management within superannuation, platforms, wealth management or broader financial services.
  • Strong understanding of insurance product lifecycle management, including design, pricing, disclosure, governance, issue management and regulatory change.
  • Experience managing insurer, administrator and third-party service provider relationships.
  • Knowledge of group and retail insurance arrangements, platform and superannuation insurance structures, and associated operational considerations.
  • Demonstrated experience analysing product performance and developing commercially sound recommendations.
  • Strong stakeholder management skills with the ability to influence across diverse business functions and competing priorities.
  • Experience preparing governance papers, board or committee submissions, risk assessments and executive recommendations.
  • A proactive mindset with a passion for improving customer outcomes and simplifying complex products and processes.
  • Tertiary qualifications in business, commerce, finance, insurance, law or a related discipline (desirable).

You’ll thrive here if…

If you can adapt from BAU to the ambiguous with ease, you’ll do well here. Change is never easy, so bring your commitment, grit and growth mindset.

Because we run lean, you’ll be expected to jump in and deliver across a variety of areas. Meaning, you’ll be closer to the action and executive decisions that influence where we go next.

If you’re someone that can hold their own, you’ll find AMP quite liberating.
