Key Deliverables
The Supply Chain Specialist will be accountable to achieve the following objectives:
Strategy Implementation
- Abide by and execute the functional strategy cascaded by the functional lead
Governance
Strategic Meetings
- Participate in strategic meetings, when required
- Execute OpCo wide transformation initiatives, when required by the functional lead
- Implement adequate risk mitigation and controls, with directions from the functional lead
- Assist in the evaluation baseline of Service Level Agreements (SLAs) and KPIs, when required
Escalations
- Escalate issues that will result in severe time, scope, productivity, and cost or resource impact to functional lead
Function Tactical
- Execute projects initiated in the specific sub-function
- Abide by the established objectives, targets and budgets for the sub-function, when required
- Prepare documentation required for sign-off on tactical changes
Performance
- Ensure execution in alignment with divisional strategy
Reporting
- Report on a daily basis to the functional lead relating to progress made within the work area and in accordance with the measurement metrics set by the organisation
- Report on an ad hoc basis on specific projects, as required
Budgets
- Abide by function’s budgets in line with business objectives
- Abide by project initiative budgets in line with business objectives
Operational Delivery
The role is accountable for the following work area outcomes:
Strategy & Analytics, Budgeting, Data and Reporting
- Execute policies, procedures and guidelines cascaded by the functional lead and ensure compliance with the same
- Comply with the set governance mechanisms, under supervision from the functional lead
Procurement Operations
- Implement Procurement policies & guidelines defined by the Group Finco & GSSC (where applicable)
- Manage local in country sourcing & procurement in line with GSSC guidelines
- Support GSMCo in crafting RFPs , shortlisting & onboarding local vendors, as required
- Provide requisite support to GSMCo in case of any regulatory requirements pertaining to local sourcing
- Additionally, provide inputs to GSMCo on potential sourcing options in the future
- Support in assessing quotes and compiling a detailed assessment of cost breakdowns
- Support business teams with Purchase Requestions and Purchase Orders
- Support Finance with open POs and assist in periodic settlements
- Monitor and communicate forecasts, changes, inventory estimates
- Provide inputs related to resource deployment/ re-deployment/ retirement, based on any local considerations, for both Global and Local categories
- Manage supplier registration, qualification, and de-activation etc.
- Ensure SCM processes alignment and compliance to the Yello Book (where applicable)
- Manage and execute sourcing and procurement activities
- Prepare and update procurement budgets and actual on a regular basis for management reporting
- Document the costs for all vendors and generate monthly cost reports
- Prepare contracting templates, terms and conditions etc. in line with the process followed and liaise with legal teams where required
- Coordinate item additions to existing Purchasing Category and system updates where required
- Monitoring and updating item, commodity and other tables in the system
- Deliver on the ordering process to ensure the completeness of the requisition process
- Record and report savings achieved
- Ensure maintenance of suppliers and materials database
- Other tasks and duties, as assigned
4. Job Requirements (Education, Experience and Competencies)
Education:
- 3-year bachelor’s degree / Diploma in Supply Chain Management or related qualification
Experience:
- 2 - 3 years of experience in a commercial or supply chain environment
- Minimum of 1 -2 years’ experience in an area of specialisation, ideally at a junior specialist level within the supply chain sector
- Experience working in a medium to large organization
- Experience working across global locations/ regions and have a grasp of political, social, infrastructure and integrity challenges
