Responsibilities

About the Role This senior expert role focuses on EU vehicle safety compliance, E-NCAP and insurance rating development. Supporting XPENG’s European market expansion, you will own overseas safety technical governance, external authority cooperation and cross-border capability building. You will act as the key technical bridge between China and European teams, leading high-standard vehicle safety development to meet EU regulatory and top industry safety benchmarks. Key Responsibilities

  1. European Regulatory Strategy & Official Stakeholder Management
  • Represent XPENG to manage and sustain strategic partnerships with E-NCAP, European insurance rating bodies and other official regulatory authorities.
  • Track and interpret the latest EU safety regulations, assessment protocols and industry trends, delivering forward-looking insights to guide product planning and R&D layout.
  • Engage in official communications to resolve complex regulatory and technical issues, providing authoritative internal compliance solutions.
  1. End-to-End Overseas Safety Development & Rating Breakthrough
  • Oversee full-lifecycle overseas vehicle safety development and provide professional technical guidance for all EU vehicle projects.
  • Lead technical optimisation and breakthroughs for E-NCAP and European insurance rating tests, covering pre-research, test strategy formulation and performance improvement.
  • Monitor full test procedures, analyse test issues and results, organise internal reviews, and build standardized safety engineering knowledge assets.
  1. Process & Capability System Development
  • Build and iterate the company’s process systems, technical standards and methodologies for overseas vehicle safety development.
  • Import and implement European safety regulations and user safety requirements, and conduct full safety verification for EU-bound vehicles.
  • Upgrade internal testing, simulation and engineering capabilities to build sustainable core overseas safety compliance strengths.
  1. Cross-Border Team Collaboration
  • Serve as the key cross-border liaison between Chinese and European teams with proficient English for full technical and business communication.

Qualifications

Education & Professional Experience

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree or above in Vehicle Engineering, Mechanical Engineering or related engineering fields.
  • Experience: 15+ years of experience in automotive safety development or overseas regulatory certification. Proven full-cycle project experience in E-NCAP or equivalent overseas rating projects, with successful delivery track records.
  • Professional Knowledge: Expert in EU/UN/ECE regulations, E-NCAP and European insurance rating systems; familiar with full-vehicle safety development workflows and core design criteria. Core Competencies
  • Communication: Fluent in written and spoken English, capable of professional technical dialogue with overseas official institutions.
  • Project Management: Excellent cross-functional coordination and end-to-end project delivery capabilities.
  • Problem-Solving: Strong analytical and technical troubleshooting skills for complex safety and regulatory challenges.
